MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/07/12 -- Xeround, the Cloud Database Company, today announced Xeround FREE, a free version of its popular cloud database for MySQL applications. Xeround FREE provides MySQL users a free, zero-management, highly available cloud database solution in just one click -- without having to install, configure and maintain a MySQL database in the cloud.
Xeround FREE is suitable for smaller applications as well as for on-going development, testing and staging environments. In addition to guaranteeing high availability with its built-in replicas and a unique self-healing architecture, Xeround FREE is also the only true native cloud database -- engineered specifically for the unique cloud environment -- thus avoiding the pitfalls of a traditional MySQL installation in the cloud. Available up to 10MB at no charge, Xeround FREE is initially offered on Amazon EC2 in the US and as an add-on for the Heroku platform, expanding to additional cloud datacenters in the near future.

Xeround BASIC is ideal for medium-sized applications in need of high availability and scalability in the cloud. Xeround BASIC is limited up to 250MB and is offered in tiered pricing starting at $17/month.
Xeround PRO, the commercial version of Xeround's database-as-a-service that launched last June, is suitable for mission-critical, larger-scale applications that require unlimited scalability, high availability SLA, scheduled backups and more.
Xeround PRO already has more than 300 paying customers and boasts a complete end-to-end solution for seamlessly running MySQL applications in the cloud. Xeround PRO also includes the industry's first auto-scaling feature for the database tier -- allowing it to automatically scale across multiple nodes when more resources are needed, and shrink back down when underutilized.
Xeround PRO is offered in a pay-per-use model starting at $0.21 for GB/hour of data (with a minimum charge for 0.5GB), and $0.43 for GB of data transfer.
Both Xeround BASIC and Xeround PRO are available on Xeround's Amazon EC2, Rackspace and Heroku datacenters.
