Control your speed with RE:Vision?s Twixtor 4.5 Slow Motion effects plugin By David Basulto

We all loved the movie 300 right? The killer slow motion battles. Swords swinging at full speed then slowing down for a brief second and then going blazing fast again. Another movie favorite of mine The Matrix also used the technique with Neo fighting the evil Agent Smith. I love that stuff.

When I first saw Re:Vision FX?s Twixtor plug-in at NAB 2007 I knew I wanted it. They had this great music video playing by a band called Autozamm that has used the plug in to stage a slow motion fight. It was tremendous. The best part was it was available as a plug in for Adobe After Effects, my application of choice. I could now play like the big boys on my new feature film that contained some great fight scenes.

After a simple install, I was off and running. Twixtor has three basic control areas; Source Control, Track Control, and Output Control. I will discuss them all in the video that follows. They are extremely powerful and simple to grasp after a few times exploring.

Twixtor works with Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, Shake, Combustion, Avid, eyeon Fusion, Quantel, Softimage and Autodesk (Sparks).
