Tips to Slim Down (your project) in 2009 After Effects: Hide those excess parameters! By Ko Maruyama

It's time for those New Years resolutions to start piling up. You know the ones: I'm going to eat healthy food. I won't slouch at my desk. I'll spend less time on Facebook, Twitter and (insert your own). . . I'M GOING TO SLIM DOWN. Well how about some slimming tips you might actually stick to? Here are some ways to slim down your animation projects in 2009. Or even just your TIMELINE!

In this tip, I'll take a look at my favorite animation application: Adobe's After Effects again.

If you're using shape layers - - you might be tempted to go crazy with the groups and sub-layered shapes and modifiers. I know I do. How do I manage working with all of those tiny little parameters? Easy, trim down your timeline view with a couple easy clicks.

Here's a really simple way to hide the clutter in your TIMELINE and only focus on the parameters you need to render the final composition.
